Alessandro Benedetti Discusses the Seasons Biggest Transfer News

The league has ended, the Copa America is over, there’s no other international tournaments and friendlies are an absolute bore – for football fans everywhere, the only thing we can do now is follow the transfer window. Here’s a list of the biggest news in the window and some Alessandro Benedetti Offside thoughts.

Let’s start with my beloved Milan, unfortunately like in the last few years, there’s not much going on of note, but we have somehow managed to beat Chelsea to a possible signing. Axel Witsel is a versatile midfielder who can play a variety of roles in the middle. Initially, Jose Mourinho was keen to sign the promising player to fill out the squad – one of Chelsea’s problems last season was tiredness – but the midfielder is keen on being a starter and so has agreed to join the Rossoneri. At a fee believed to be around 30 Million euros, he’s not cheap but it’s a start for Milan to get back on top, where, for Alessandro Benedetti Offside, they clearly belong.

The premier league, as always has its fair share of transfer drama. Manchester United fans will say goodbye to Robin Van Persie this season as he looks to finalize a move to Fenerbache in Turkey. The Dutch striker enjoyed a short but prolific career with Man United. He will always be remembered for failing to win a trophy for many years at arsenal, before moving and wining the league in his debut year. Although he wasn’t at the club for very long, he’s much loved by United supporters, as his brilliant debut season is the main reason Manchester United were able to win the league that year.

Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling is being given a torrid time by the media. The forward clearly wants a move away from Liverpool to Manchester City but with City stalling on meeting Liverpool’s £50 million valuation of the player tensions are rising, the latest development is Sterling coming out and stating he wants to move because of a breakdown with Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers. One things for sure, whether he moves or doesn’t Sterling has certainly lost a fair amount of fans.

Real Madrid legend and goalkeeping stalwart Ike Casillas looks set for a move to Porto which is likely to trigger a chain of other transfers. With his move away it looks certain now that Manchester United ace David De Gea will move to the Spanish giants, but it still remains to be seen if his deal will include a swap for Madrid centre back Sergio Ramos. A fully fit Ramos would be an exceptional buy for United and in the opinion of Alessandro Benedetti offside, could even turn them into title contenders.
